The Mayans believe that 2012 is an auspicious time to move forward, to evolve, and to grow. At the very same time the old Mayans calendar ends its 5,125 year cycle and a new cycle begins. This time is all about moving forward and creating desireable, sustainable new beginnings. This is a time when people are clarifying their core values and visions and nurturing their lives and eliminating what doesn’t work. SO yes, it is time to shed what no longer serves you and to find inspiration to move forward into the next chapter of your life. It is the time to create your dream and nurture this. What do you need more of? HOw do you get there? Are you willing to let down your defensive and well earned masks and take the emotional risks that you speak of?

So I’m on a journey to reach a “higher consciousness”. Sounds a little vague, yes? What is that place and how do I know when I get there?
To me “higher consciousness” as a place of knowing; living in quietness, living in the present time, and being aware of all of the possibilities.
“Lower consciousness” is a place that involves fear, drama, ego, and living from the past.
Living in the present takes practice, as we are raised in a society that plans every minute of the future and dwells in a past that can’t be changed. A higher consciousness also requires something that most of us also lack….patience.
Wayne Dyer beautifully wrote, “Being infinitely patient means having an absolute knowing that you are in vibrational harmony with the all-creating force that intened you here. You know that everything will happen at just the right time, at just the right place, and just with the right people.”
Minimal Effective Dose: The smallest dose that will still produce your desired results.
For example, if I want six-pack abs, what is the least amount that I can work out each week and still have a washboard stomach?
Do I need to exercise one hour every day, six days per week? Or can I exercise just once per week for 30 minutes? If I can get my desired washboard in just 30 minutes, then that would be my minimal effective dose. Would six hours of exercise per week also get me a six-pack? Possibly, but I don’t want to spend that much time exercising every week.
Let’s say I want to grill myself a burger. Will 45 seconds over some hot charcoal get me a great rare burger that is safe and tasty to eat, or do I need to char it for 5 minutes on each side and try not to lose a tooth? In this instance, 45 seconds is my MED and anything else is redundant, and may sometimes lead to undesirable results.
My goal with this blog is to find out the MED for all sorts of things…weight loss, self-esteem, internal peace, muscle building, relationships, cooking, and life in general. I want to be happy, evolve my higher self, look good, and enjoy this life without spending a ton of time getting to that point. Who is with me?
